Senior Sales Representative

Position Summary:

The Senior Sales Representative is responsible for leading the sales process and enhancing the resources to close profitable sales. Key activities include generating qualified leads, developing a deep understanding of customer needs and how to best address them, to ultimately create lasting relationships with prospective clients. This role requires outbound cold calling, identifying and qualifying opportunities, actively networking, referral research, and managing the daily department activities necessary for growing the department.

This role requires an intense competitive drive, and be able to work with the leadership team to develop winning strategies for specific key opportunities.


Job Functions:

  • Drive new business sales through the private/negotiated sales markets

  • Create new and cultivate existing relationships with industrial and commercial building owners and facility managers

  • Knowledge and ability to communicate the Company’s strengths and value propositions as the preferred provider of roof solutions

  • Maintain technical and field knowledge of a variety of roof systems and repair alternatives as roof solutions primarily in the existing building environment

  • Analyze and diagnose customers’ roofing needs to be matched to appropriate roof system alternatives including replacement, repair, and preventative maintenance alternatives

  • Create cost budgets for various roof solutions and proposals to effectively present the same

  • Provide input on the pricing of roof solutions and help establish value-added sales messages

  • Develop new opportunities and accounts

  • Create a competitive environment amongst the sales force

  • Deliver feedback to the rest of the organization on how to better satisfy client needs

  • Mentor less experienced sales talent within the organization and drive a team orientated environment


Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • Bachelor's degree in related field

  • 7-10 years of selling experience in roofing, construction or a related field

  • Excellent track record in developing relationships

  • Established relationships with decision makers relating to the Company’s services, including building owners, facility managers and roof design and consulting firms, and a proven track record of sales accomplishments

  • Proven knowledge of and ability to execute the sales process with a strong profit orientation

  • Ability to understand both technical and financial aspects of subspecialty construction operations

  • Enthusiastic team player willing to help rally the sales force to promote local and national sales initiatives

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal team members

  • Strong leadership traits and mentoring abilities

  • Highly developed written and verbal presentation skills


Knowledge, Skills & Experience (Desirable)

  • Previous sales management experience is a plus

Occupational Health and Safety:

  • Compliance with workplace policies and procedures for risk identification, risk assessment and risk control

  • Active participation in activities associated with the management of workplace health and safety

  • Identification and reporting of health and safety risks, accidents, incidents, injuries and property damage at the workplace

Working Conditions:

Physical surroundings: Office environment with typical office machines and exposure to noise and temperature; Construction and Roofing Project sites with accompanying machinery, equipment, and materials

Physical Effort: Extensive sitting, standing, walking. Repetitive keying, typing. Occasional lifting not to exceed 50 pounds

Hours: Not subject to overtime
