Job Overview:
An FDA-registered provider of fine chemicals, laboratory equipment and supplies with the largest selection of USP-NF-FCC chemicals for regulated markets including pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics, cosmetics, and food and beverage. We are seeking a Product Manager, Chemicals to help drive our organization’s product management and pricing strategies in collaboration with a diverse and talented team of experienced and passionate professionals.
Responsibilities:
Conduct pricing analyses and execute value-based pricing strategies to maximize revenue and profit margins.
Review pricing and deviations of unprofitable products and recommend price increases based on value to customer, market conditions, product costs and geography.
Serve as central contact and communicate to business teams on topics related to product management including pricing, raw material availability, market pressures, supply chain efficiencies and regulatory requirements.
Develop sales forecasts and coordinate demand planning with Supply Base, Operations and other stakeholders.
Perform product rationalization, review and process requests for new product setup, and identify non-performing products for exit.
Manage and maintain product information in business systems including pricing, cost, specifications and part numbers.
Assess market opportunities including future demands for product portfolio and pipeline.
Establish close relationships with customers, business partners and sales organization to keep abreast of emerging market trends and opportunities.
Track product sales performance including P/L against forecasts and devise corrective actions as necessary.
Monitor external drivers, investigate key trends related to product mix or lifecycle, analyze potential impacts, and devise effective strategies to drive growth.
Experience and Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or equivalent/applicable scientific field
MBA preferred
Requirements:
3-5 years in sales, product management or strategic marketing
Technical background in chemistry
Ability to analyze and interpret data for effective decision-making to influence financial results
Self-starter with project management and problem-solving skills
Strong financial acumen and ROI orientation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
