Credit Analyst I / Underwriter

Interfuse Staffing - Attica, OH

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CREDIT ANALYST I / UNDERWRITER

As a Credit Analyst I / Underwriter, you play a critical role in our lending department. You are responsible for underwriting loans used for agricultural and commercial purposes as well as handling renewals and modifications for existing loans. For both prospective and existing lending relationships, you collect and analyze financial statements, balance sheets, tax returns, collateral, covenants, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit reports, payment histories, industry trends, and economic conditions. You assign a credit risk grade based on the information obtained and prepare a write-up for management review.

Working closely with lenders, you review credit and all associated paperwork before a loan is approved. You help them prepare the all-inclusive packets that will be the basis for credit decisions and the presentations for committee review. You assist loan officers in determining the future performance of loans. Prior to closing, you review appraisals on commercial loans in excess of $250,000 to identify and resolve any discrepancies that may impact loan to value ratios and the bank's risk. You also review loans to ensure that the loan officer followed bank policy and exercised sound decision-making.

You conduct systematic annual reviews of all commercial loans in our portfolio above $150,000 and adjust assigned risk grades as needed. You also perform semi-annual reviews of commercial loans less than $100,000 and consumer loans. Additionally, you perform annual risk-based reviews on all ACH customers. You assist in developing portfolio management reports to track a variety of lending-related data, such as UCC filings and industry exposure. Your job is both analytical and collaborative, and you get great satisfaction out of helping commercial and agricultural entities in your community thrive!
