SUMMARY:

The MOC controller provides technical and logistical support to Maintenance and Flight Crew for active aircraft maintenance discrepancies, MEL/CDL and deferred maintenance items, to determine proper and timely corrective action. This position coordinates with Maintenance, SOC, Parts, and Quality Control to provide current and continued follow-up to ensure prompt performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Provide technical and logistical support to Maintenance and Flight Crews for active aircraft maintenance discrepancies, MEL/CDL and deferred maintenance items to determine proper and timely corrective action

 Coordinate with Maintenance, SOC, Parts, and Quality Control to provide current and continuing follow-up to ensure prompt performance of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Participates in the Daily Maintenance conference. GMM 15-01

 Authorize the use of Class III / IV maintenance technicians to return aircraft to service, comply with MEL/CDL maintenance procedures or perform inspections for ferry flights

 Supervise Class III / IV maintenance technicians performing maintenance and returning Company aircraft to service. 121.363(b)

 Coordinate and monitor aircraft ferry flights

 Coordinate recovery efforts of aircraft grounded at outstations

 Maintain continuous liaison with SOC while providing current and continuous reports of the general technical status of Company aircraft

 Collect information on daily operational delays and cancellations which result from Maintenance or Parts related problems and generate daily Mechanical Interruption Summary Reports from this information GMM 11-02

 Process deferrable items per the MEL/CDL manual. Follow up on deferred items, ensuring parts, downtime, and labor requirements are communicated to Maintenance and Quality Control

 Ensure MEL/CDL and deferred maintenance item status is current and within authorized time limits.

 Responsible for assistance with notification and coordination during emergency response events. Refer to the Emergency Response Manual (ERM) for specific duties

 Collect, assemble, and distribute information for FAA and Service Difficulty Reports

 Additional duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 Current A&P certificate required

 Minimum three years professional aircraft maintenance work experience, preferred

 Minimum 6 months MOC experience, required

 Knowledgeable of FARs

 Highly organized and able to handle stressful situations

 Excellent computer skills

 Excellent customer service skills

 Must be goal oriented, have an exceptional attention to detail, and must work well in team situations and also as an individual

 Must have a flexible schedule and be willing to work any and all shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays

 Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

 Must exhibit exceptional knowledge of Cape Air and must embody the Cape Air MOCHA HAGoTDI spirit
