Payroll Specialist

Job Description:

  • Process and administer payroll for all employees, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and deductions.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and changes in compensation.
  • Review and verify timesheets, attendance records, and other relevant documentation to ensure correct payment of hours worked.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate benefits enrollment and deductions, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee benefits.
  • Generate and distribute paychecks or electronic fund transfers (EFT) to employees on a timely basis.
  • Address employee inquiries and concerns related to payroll, deductions, and tax withholding.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management and other departments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Participate in regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll regulations and best practices to ensure the organization's payroll processes are up-to-date and compliant.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience in ADP
  • Proficiency in payroll software and related tools for processing and reporting.
  • Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail to ensure accurate calculations.
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and payroll compliance.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with employees, managers, and external agencies.
  • Problem-solving skills to address and resolve payroll discrepancies or issues.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee information.
