POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manufacturing Engineer is involved in the development of methods and process to implement manufacturing in the most cost effective manner, subject to product quality and process safety. Work may involve pilot plant operations, a new production line or process, or developing improvements to existing plant operations.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supports production by analyzing process bottlenecks and equipment capability issues.
Utilizes data collection and root cause analysis to evaluate above mentioned issues.
Supports specific projects designed to meet improvement goals.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Performs all operational improvements with keeping safety initiatives intact.
Assist with control of operational cost and waste reduction. Recommends improvements that identify and reduce areas of waste.
Promotes and participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
SKILLS:
Industrial engineering experience with exposure to standard work concepts
In-depth knowledge of CAD 3D design
Must be able to deal with all levels of management and personnel
Working Knowledge of lean manufacturing
Fixture design along with welding and robotics a plus
Electrical knowledge/design a plus
Ability to implement and manage improvements in production
Machine design experience a plus
Ability to understand production in a cellular environment
Ability to work with production workers and diagnose production issues
Ergonomics experience a plus
Knowledge of best practices in material handling
Experience with ISO a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Works in both a standard office environment and an industrial manufacturing environment.
