Job purpose

Therapists are responsible for providing therapy and leading a multi-disciplined team at a residential treatment center for kids and adolescents who are experiencing behavioral and emotional trauma due to abuse and neglect.

Duties and responsibilities

• Keep Kids Safe!
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions with kids.
• Interact daily with direct care staff and other team members to ensure therapeutic needs of the youth are met.
• Develop treatment plan collaboratively with the kid and other members of the Treatment Team.
• Complete case notes according to company policy.
• Adhere to the company Employee Handbook and Philosophy and Guidelines.
• Complete updates of treatment plan and notes progress of youth on weekly basis.
• Assign kid appropriate therapeutic tasks to accomplish treatment goals.
  

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in psychology, therapy, social work or other social services field required;
• Possess either an LPC or LCSW license to provide care in the State of Texas;
• Be credentialed through Cenpatico/Medicaid to provide therapeutic services;
• Strong clinical background preferably in Trauma (not just Informed but focused on Resolving Trauma) given priority;
• Applicants must have insight and understanding of cultural diversity and have the ability to work with diverse populations;
• Be able to perform conflict resolution or crisis intervention;
• Applicants must pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and tuberculosis screening; and
• Experience in Residential Treatment a plus.
