Senior Buyer

Job Summary:

The Senior Buyer manages procurement, supply chain distribution, and inventory for materials, parts, and equipment used in production. They coordinate deliveries, establish costs, select vendors, and resolve issues with supplies or orders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Advise on supplier selection and analyze commodity requirements, including specifications and deadlines.
  • Coordinate procurement activities from intent to purchase through delivery and cost-effective distribution.
  • Ensure timely delivery, negotiate costs, and maintain quality standards for commodities.
  • Implement compliant purchase contracts and maintain accurate order and shipping records.
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance while solving practical problems and improving processes.
  • Support quality standards and contribute to implementing innovative ideas.

Qualifications:

  • Must have: High School Diploma or GED
  • 8 years experience as a buyer in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Understanding of Microsoft products, and purchase order software
  • Exceptional communication, customer service, and listening skills
  • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and time management skills

Compensation for this position is from $55k - $60k depending on experience.
