Position Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Electrical Engineering to provide advanced technical and design services in support of our diverse electrical design projects. This pivotal role supports the Director of Electrical Engineering and is designed for a professional poised to step into a directorial position in the near future. The successful candidate will lead efforts to produce detailed construction drawings and specifications tailored to client needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the electrical design process for both large-scale and small projects, ensuring superior quality and adherence to timelines.
- Manage project schedules and coordinate the activities of the design team.
- Engage directly with architects and project owners, ensuring effective communication and project alignment.
- Apply advanced engineering techniques and criteria to assigned projects.
- Mentor and develop both senior and junior-level engineering staff.
- Oversee the preparation of detailed reports, meeting minutes, and design documentation.
- Ensure quality control measures are in place to meet all applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Provide technical expertise and consultation for the planning, design, and construction phases of various facility types.
- Assist with resource allocation, departmental planning, and long-term strategic goals.
- Delegate tasks effectively and serve as the designated officer responsible for project oversight.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as projects require.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 15 plus years of experience in Electrical Design including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, grounding, coordination/arc flash studies
- BS in Electrical Engineering with PE Registration and the ability to be licensed by comity in other states
- Experience in Federal/Municipal Government, Healthcare or Aviation are preferred but are not required
- Strong knowledge of Building Codes, Applicable NFPA Codes and Energy Codes
- Extensive knowledge of the National Electrical Code
- Must be self-motivated and work independently to complete work assignments
- Must know REVIT and AutoCAD
- Must be able to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software.
- LEED AP certification preferred
- Must be a US Citizen and have a valid driver’s license
