Experience, Training, Certification and Education (demonstrating requirements):

A University Degree in Human Resources or related discipline;

5 - 7 years of HR and business experience;

Computer and math skills are required (especially MS Excel & Word);

Demonstrated excellence in previous HR/Business endeavors;

Certified Professional (PHR/SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SPHR/SHRM-SCP) credential is strongly desired;

Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s Payroll, Benefit and HRIS systems; Knowledge and experience developing standards and processes for a Human Resources function in accordance with best practices and standards; and

Experience managing recruitment, ideally for a manufacturing facility.

Management, leadership development, employee relations, policy implementation, and employment law compliance.


Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Support leaders up to the General Manager; partner with the management team in formulating/implementing HR strategies.

2. Recommend and revise HR policies and procedures related to compliance, performance, accountability and employee relations, as necessary.

3. Manage full recruitment lifecycle: post, source, screen, recommend candidates to hiring managers, schedule all rounds of interviews. Prepare and present offer packages.

4. Perform 401(k) and benefits administration to include enrollments, terminations, FMLA, COBRA administration, claims resolution, reconcile invoices for payment and communicating benefit information to employees. Manage online benefit enrollment module for qualifying life events and open enrollment in HRIS.

5. Responsible for hourly payroll and salaried payrolls ensuring that all necessary reporting and contribution uploads when each payroll is complete.

6. Provide front line support to employees with regard to HR support; work closely with Operational leadership to support employees and the organization.

7. Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Conduct periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies and procedures.

8. Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues. Provide advice and counsel to supervisors and employees regarding employment policies, performance concerns and improvement plans. Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations of issues and complaints and recommend resolutions and disciplinary actions.

9. Review and evaluate disciplinary actions to include written warnings, suspensions and dismissals etc., to ensure consistent application of company policies and legal compliance
