Quality Manager

The Quality Assurance Managers report to the Chief Quality/Compliance Officer.

They are responsible for implementation of procedures and for purchasing “Controlled

Materials & Services”. Their duties shall include but not be limited to:

a. Serving as the company liaison with customers to resolve customer complaints and identified nonconformance’s;

b. Investigation of customer complaints and subsequent corrective action;

c. Quality Record capture and storage;

d. Assuring all instruments, gages and equipment utilized to produce a quality product are calibrated;

e. Review of specifications and development of new procedures for special projects;

f. Review of new revisions of specifications for impact to established company procedures;

g. Control and issuance of specifications to the shop floor;

h. Periodic research and update of new revisions; and

i. Maintenance of specification library (as applicable).

j. Quality Planning Support and Corrective Action Support

k. Development of procurement requirements and issuance of purchase orders to qualified organizations for “Controlled Materials and Services”;

l. Inspection of incoming “Controlled Materials and Services” procured to support the

Quality Program functions;

m. Supplier qualification, audit and inspection; and

n. Procurement quality functions, including the qualification of suppliers, receiving inspection and purchase order review.

o. Be the facility focal for Prime, AS9100, and Nadcap audits.

 

Addendum for Heat Treat Quality Assurance Manager(s)

 Ensure that the AS9100/AC7004 (as applicable) quality management system is adhered to within the scope of HT operation and properly implemented.

 Ensure Nadcap and OEM HT requirements are adhered to.

 Promote and lead continuous improvement activities

 Host customer and registrar audits

 Facilitate and perform internal audits.

 Provide technical / metallurgical support to internal operations and customers

 Manage the Inspection, Laboratory and Pyrometry functions

 Occasional travel (i.e. Nadcap Meetings, Mexico Division etcetera) 

 Manage HT-QA Staff

 Day-to-day functions of this position are overseen by the Vice President of Heat Treat.

 

Candidates should be comfortable working with computer systems and testing equipment. Experience with Quality Management Systems in a heat-treating facility with preferably both Aluminum and Steel Heat Treatment (I.E. Solution aging, Vacuum furnaces, induction hardening, and others) 

 

Qualifications:

 Quality Management (5 Years)

 Successfully Managing QA personnel (3 years)

 Experience with Nadcap HTAudits (5 Years)

 Background in Heat Treating (7 Years)

 Aerospace (7 Years)

 Bachelor’s Degree in Materials Science preferred (Can be Metallurgy or related field) (Can accept 10 years progressive experience in HT QA Management in lieu of) (Can accept a B.S. in Business with 5 verifiable successful years of HT QA Management experience)
