Plant Mgr - comm'l heat treat
Summary of Position:
The plant manager must be a hands on, self-starter who can develop and lead a team in all aspects of the day-to-day operations. Supervises and coordinates activities of all Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance workers, at the discretion and approval of the President, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of all work assignments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Enforces company policies and procedures for the Production, Quality Control, and Maintenance departments.
• Ensures compliance with safety rules and regulations for Production, Quality Control, and
Maintenance departments.
• Oversees production schedules and completion of job assignments.
• Works with the Production/Scheduling Supervisor and Production Manager to resolve customer issues, as needed.
• Works with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure the uptime of all equipment.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
• Ensures compliance with production and quality control standards.
• Performs tests and inspections, as needed.
• Ensures communication and coordination between departments and shifts.
• Analyzes and resolves minor work issues.
• Steps in to personally perform job duties of all departments, as needed, assuming their essential duties and responsibilities.
• Communicates any complex or major issues to the President and/or HR Department in a timely manner, as appropriate.
• Performs data entry of all operations, as required.
• Ensures all established costs, quality, and delivery commitments are met.
• Reviews blueprints and determines heat treat specifications to be performed on orders.
• Maintain quality systems that meet or exceed customer and corporate expectations.
• Participates in company quality initiatives such as Corrective Actions, ISO registration, etc.
• Tests and inspects materials at various stages of production.
• Evaluates and records data, documenting test/inspection results and entering in the Company’s
computer software system.
• Recommends modifications to achieve optimum quality.
• Works with Quality Control department to ensure products meet quality standards.
• Quotes process and terms and prepares sales contracts.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in a heat treat processing environment.
• BS degree in engineering or materials science.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience.
