Field Service Engineer

Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Senior Field Service Technician, under minimal supervision, inspects and services company as well as other manufacturer’s equipment assuring product performance. This position addresses and resolves questions and problems regarding products, and conducts training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of products.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, and start-up company manufactured equipment at customer sites according to specifications and drawings.
  • Monitor erection and installation of equipment to ensure that company guidelines and tolerances have been met.
  • Service all company products at customer sites; testing, troubleshooting and adjusting as needed.
  • Use various gauges, meters, and electrical testing equipment to check specifications.
  • Provide technical support to customers over the telephone, addressing and resolving questions and problems
  • Communicate with appropriate company employees regarding product problems to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Conduct training and service programs in the operation and maintenance of equipment for customer employees.
  • Complete all required records and documentation for customers and for the company.
  • Determine the acceptance of equipment erection to activate warranty. 
  • Assist, direct and monitor contracted installation crews when applicable.
  • Assist in the training of all new hires
  • Remain technically competent and keep current in new developments within the industry.
  • Will be required to travel up to 50% in a given year

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to perform each essential duty for up to 8 to 12 hours daily.
  • Education and/or Experience Requires high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 to 5 years of field service experience.
  • Must meet requirements for electrician and have a high level of mechanical aptitude
  • Must have 3-5 years of PLC experience and understand the logic in regards to equipment functions.
  • Understanding of temperature controllers and AC drives including programming these devices.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, customer specifications, warranties, company standards, and operating and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to operate a variety of small hand and power tools, the ability to operate electronic testing equipment, the ability to travel, and the ability to read and work from blueprints and schematics.
  • Work may involve international travel.




Compensation: 75k
