Mechanical Engineer - vacuum furnace

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the entire lifecycle of mechanical designs of mechanical components/subassemblies and electromechanical equipment. The engineer will be involved in the bidding process, have conceptual and detail part level design responsibility. as well as sustaining engineering of existing products. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop conceptual designs that can be used for technical proposals and costing
  • Translate customer requirements and specifications into mechanical designs
  • Analyze designs for safety, manufacturability, life cycle of parts, and cost/benefit tradeoffs
  • Use computer-aided design (CAD) software to design products and systems
  • Prepare and maintain product documentation including top level, subassembly and component drawings, product qualification test plans and reports, and production assembly and test procedures.
  • Product testing and release of mechanical and electromechanical designs into the engineering system, update designs as changes are made and communicate changes to customers
  • Prepare and hold design review presentations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Review provided customer designs and documents to assess material costs, manufacturing processes and fixturing required, as well as internal and external testing costs
  • Work with vendors for cost quotations, availability of parts or services, and management of associated delivery timelines
  • Constantly review current and new technology to be able to apply the best solutions to customer requirements
  • Handle multiple projects through effective communication with stakeholders and use of project management software to identify and monitor progress against key milestones

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years Design/Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with aluminum dip brazing joint design. Experience with vacuum furnace, induction and/or torch brazing is a plus
  • Electronics packaging experience and electromechanical development experience is a plusProficiency with PC-based office software such as MS Office
  • Proficiency using engineering software such SolidWorks.



Compensation: 100,000.00
