Job Description

  • Lead training and education related to the Quality Management System and applicable statutory, regulatory, and customer requirements in the aerospace industry.
  • Develop, implement, maintain and enhance all quality assurance and quality control activities that impact the business and its programs
  • Develop, monitor, and post metrics to measure progress and improvements related to all quality related programs and initiatives
  • Coordinate and align projects with other managers across all functional areas of the business unit and manage a team of professionals that ensure the highest quality product for our customers
  • Establish measurable quality department operational objectives and assignments to support overall business unit plans and goals
  • Manage, organize, plan and execute the overall quality operation to achieve business unit and company goals
  • Plan, schedule, and manage the quality department resources to complete quality duties on time and in a cost effective manner
  • Manage quality department resources to assist all other functions within the business unit requiring quality assistance as required by the General Manager
  • Assist in maintaining the corporate initiative of plant safety and environmental programs
  • Conduct contract reviews to ensure compliance with work instructions
  • Communicate with customers regarding quality issues and ensure that corrective actions are adopted and remain in place
  • Communicate with external auditors and assist organization to correct any deficiencies that may be found
  • Develop and maintain a robust internal quality audit program that promotes process ownership to ensure compliance with AS9100D:2016, NADCAP, FAA, and customer requirements per the Quality Management System

Education and Experience

  • B.S. Degree and/or a minimum of 10 years of quality related manufacturing experience
  • At least 5 years of management experience leading an quality group
  • ASQ certification or comparable experience
  • Training with the ability to teach in lean, six-sigma, root-cause analysis and continuous improvement principles
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing and to read and interpret technical requirements of a quality system
  • At least 5 years of experience with implementation and maintenance of an Aerospace quality system
  • Proficient with MS Office and QMS type software
  • Experience with FAA regulations and NADCAP standards of special processes
