Customer Service/Inside Sales - Coatings and Surface Treatments

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor incoming RFQs (request-for-quotes) and assign to relevant field sales staff.
  • Prepare quotes for in-house accounts and follow-up the same with customers.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.Maintain quote logs.
  • Communicate with customers to provide status regarding their orders in-house; follow-up to seek clarifications about in-coming work etc.; communicate customer’s rush needs to the Operations team and manage customer expectations; perform customer PO/Order review to ensure orders have been entered correctly into the shop management computer system; work with Operations to ensure that orders get out on time
  • Inside Sales - answering front-office phones; assisting customers with their basic inquiries about HEF’s processing capabilities; calling on new leads; following up on RFQ and submitted quotes
  • Support the field sales staff to prepare quotes and address customer queries.
  • Purchasing – issuance of POs per company policy
  • Admin/Accounting Assistance – managing the front desk, filing, completing credit apps, billing or voucher entry as needed, miscellaneous accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 4-year Bachelor degree or equivalent.2-year Community college with relevant experience, will also be considered. Strong preference for a science background.
  • Individual must have experience in a customer service role where they have handled 50 or more active customers.
  • Experience with customer EDI system.
  • Experience with an ERP system (E2 preferably).
  • Experience with an Accounting system (Peachtree preferably) will be an added qualification.
  • Strong computer skills – especially MS Excel and MS Word.
  • Some knowledge of shipping product through common carriers and UPS/Fed-Ex.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.The job requires regular phone interaction with customers and colleagues across different facilities in the US and the HQ in France.
  • Multitasking ability – the job required the individual to move from functional role to the other and manage several priorities simultaneously.



Compensation: 95000
