Systems Engineer - vacuum

The System Engineer plans, designs, implements, and troubleshoots vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems in a collaborative environment through interpretation of project requirements, customer’s expectations, customer meetings, internal stakeholders input and analysis of system mechanical and electrical design. These developed systems are integral to equipment built for the advanced thermal processing of material in controlled atmospheres.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to assume a subject matter expert role during customer and stakeholder design reviews and to present confidence and professionalism.
  • Advanced knowledge of vacuum systems including pump technologies, sensing methods, and filtration systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems including pump technologies, control methodologies, filtration, and actuators.
  • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic systems including control methodologies, filtration, and actuators.
  • Advanced knowledge of cooling systems including pumping technologies, sensing methods, filtration, and control methodologies.
  • Proficiency generating schematics with AutoCAD 2012 or newer.
  • Experience with a Parts Data Management (PDM) system, e.g., Vault Professional or SolidWorks PDM.
  • A successful candidate will necessarily possess project management and team leadership skills.
  • Able to provide and receive support in a team environment.
  • Ability to generate procurement specifications, performance specifications, testing procedures, reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts needed to determine performance characteristics of vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and cooling systems.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to quickly understand complex systems, applications, and processes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A minimum of 1 - 5 years in a similar role is required.

 




Compensation: $90,000.00
