Production Planner - Kempton Park

Isantya Group - Kempton, PA

Due to a major upgrade in the manufacturing plant this role has become available. The company is currently expanding its footprint into Africa.

Key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Maintain production schedules to generate requirements for manufacturing to ensure demand and supply are balanced at all times
  • Review sales order requests and provide feasible promise dates to customer service
  • Communicate with other departments to ensure timely and effective execution of production plans
  • Review capacity planning for accurate scheduling offore cast
  • Analyse forecasts for anticipated demand for sales
  • Schedule manufacturing orders and determine priorities in areas of production
  • Manage the control process by proper recording of manufacturing transactions, creating manufacturing orders (MOs), updating MOs on material conversions, actual labour usage and review large MOvariances
  • Reschedule orders that require alternative shipdates

     

    Qualifications and experience:

  • Commerce or Supply Chain qualification
  • Experience in Materials Planning or Master Scheduling within a manufacturing environment is an asset
  • Coordinate activities with Engineering, Sales, Warehouse and Manufacturing personnel as necessary to keep each informed of potential
  • 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (metal fabrication preferred) working with BOM’s & Routings with hands on responsibility in Materials Planning, Production activity control / Capacity Planning, MRP and Scheduling related functions
  • A very strong manufacturing background preferably in a precision machining environment working with BOMs & Routings with hands on responsibility in Materials Planning
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes, Planning, Shop Floor Control and Job Costing
  • Excellent people skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Advanced experience in MS Office
  • Sound working knowledge of Syspro Manufacturing an added advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of MRP and ERP systems
  • A self-starter that can work with limited supervision
  • Strong team player
  • Comfortable in a demanding, dynamic and diverse environment
