Cable Plant Technician

Information Systems Solutions - Sierra Vista, AZ

ISS is seeking a cable technician to support the US Army with the modernization of earth terminals at Satellite Communications (SATCOM) facilities, worldwide. Cable technicians will be responsible for handling all aspects of running communications cabling between equipment. Significant travel will be required for extended periods of time (4-5 weeks) to perform this work.

Duties include:

  • Running cables through the interior and exterior of buildings
  • Terminating fiber and copper cabling (all types)
  • Testing cable runs and troubleshooting issues.

Clearance Level

  • Interim Secret (Required to begin work)


  • BICSI Installer


  • 2+ years of telecommunications or electronics vocational training

Professional certification from an ABET accredited technical school (or equivalent military school) may be substituted for vocational training.

Required Skills

  • Experience terminating fiber and copper cabling
  • Experience installing conduit
  • Experience working with patch panels
