Cable Plant Technician

Information Systems Solutions - Battle Creek, MI

ISS is seeking a Cable Technician to support DLA with a multitude of low-voltage cabling requirements throughout the United States. Cable Technicians will be responsible for handling all aspects of running communications cabling between equipment. Some travel is required.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Running cables through the interior and exterior of buildings
  • Terminating fiber and copper cabling (all types)
  • Testing cable runs and troubleshooting issues

Clearance Level

  • Secret

Certifications

  • Confined space certification/training
  • Low voltage or installer course
  • BICSI Installer 2, Copper or Optical Fiber

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, electronics or systems engineering with at least one year of experience in that field -OR-
  • Associate degree in electrical, electronics, or systems engineering with at least 3-5 years of experience; must be related to telecommunications systems/network.
