Location: Remote (U.S. based)
Salary Range: $130,000–$150,000

We’re supporting a client in their search for a Windows Automation Software Engineer to join their Infrastructure & Platform team. This is a mid-level role focused on building automation, streamlining infrastructure deployments, and strengthening infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices in both cloud and on-prem environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code templates and modules to automate Windows infrastructure (EC2/Azure VMs, Active Directory, etc.).

  • Create and maintain PowerShell scripts, Ansible playbooks, and DSC configurations to automate system setup, patching, and configuration enforcement.

  • Leverage CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, etc.) to provision and configure Windows environments.

  • Set up observability, monitoring, and logging for Windows systems, supporting troubleshooting and incident response.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, cybersecurity, and operations teams to align infrastructure needs with application and mission objectives.

  • Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to ensure quality, scalability, and security standards.

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of professional experience applying software development practices to Windows infrastructure.

  • Strong background in Windows Server environments: Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows security, and performance tuning.

  • Advanced PowerShell scripting skills (modules, installers, network and service configurations, etc.); DSC experience strongly preferred.

  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools; ability to analyze logs and metrics for troubleshooting.

  • Hands-on experience with version control (git) and branching strategies, integrating infrastructure into CI/CD workflows.

  • Knowledge of IAM/SSO solutions (ADFS, Okta, Azure AD) is a plus.

  • Exposure to AWS services (EC2, S3) and IaC tools (CloudFormation, CDK, Terraform) is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Security certifications (CompTIA Security+, Cloud+, etc.) or willingness to obtain shortly after hire.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD NIPR account and CAC.

Why This Role
You’ll be working on a platform that integrates automation, real-time monitoring, and secure infrastructure solutions to support mission-critical environments. The role offers autonomy, collaboration, and the chance to drive resilience and efficiency in Windows-based systems.
