Senior Network/Telecom Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

Acting as a liaison to telecom vendors to maintain critical systems including Cisco or Avaya infrastructure and SIP trunking services; Networking technologies Cisco/Nortel routing/switching equipment, IP addressing• Installs and upgrades voice hardware and software by following established systems management procedures.
Designs and plans voice systems and provides specifications including detailed architectural schematics.
Expands voice network services by examining current trends and by developing secure, cost-effective implementation plans, strategies, and schedules for the introduction of new or improved services.
Reports, tracks and as necessary, escalates voice platform performance issues to resolution.
Provides 24-hour on-call support for voice/Telecom platform issues.
Support the telecom infrastructure to ensure the highest level of performance and availability in a critical 24X7 environment with specific responsibilities for call center applications and support
Responsible for maintaining IT policies and procedures for strict access controls to customer, company and voice system information.
Responsible for the enterprise integration, implementation, configuration, and support of communications technologies (PBX, VOIP, UC, Teleconferencing, Telepresence, Mobility, Cloud, Fax).
Handling all levels of telecom support and work with managed services providers to resolve all telecom issues in a timely manner.
Functioning as a subject expert for telecom hardware/software solutions from Avaya, MobileIron, Radvision, and LifeSize.
Conducting software release and testing in line with established change control processes.
Monitoring telecom performance and making recommendations for improving efficiencies.
Establishing procedures for the backup of system components and disaster recovery testing.
Maintains technical expertise in all areas of voice networking including hardware/software interconnections and interfaces, such as phone systems, voicemail systems, and call center technologies.
Perform proactive traffic and utilization analysis to trend and predict service consumption and growth. Validates software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply and maintain quality standards for the Telecom products.
Manages validation testing including executing scripts, logging and tracking problems found, and regression testing any changes made to the system.
Ensure high availability of 24 X 7 production systems.
Participate in the management of the Performance and Capacity of the TelecomInfrastructure across the Group in coordination with Canadian Counterparts.
Networking technologies Cisco/Nortel routing/switching equipment, IP addressing.
Support and enhance client/PBX telecommunications solutions based on platforms from Avaya and others Qualifications.
Support the deployment of telecommunications infrastructure for contact center locations - Experience with automation for QA testing for Telecom products including IVR technologies - Analyze and resolve complex client/PBX issues.
Integration of contact center applications and existing network and hardware infrastructure
Advanced experience with Telecom Carrier services.
Analyzes defects functionally and technically before providing them to Developers
Conditioning of Test Accounts.
Qualifications:

Must obtain Public Trust Clearance
U.S. Citizen
Minimum 7 years of experience - Licensing or Certifications
SIP
VoIP
CCIE
CCNA
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Education, Telecommunications, Technical, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Communication, Computer Engineering,
Electronics Desired experience:

Ownership of new technology implementations including assessment, testing, deployment, project management, and documentation of hardware and software technologies - Tracking market developments and making recommendations regarding upgrades, device engineering and management solutions to improve efficiency.
Assists in the planning and development of the project scopes, procedures, budgets and overall project schedules.
Works with customer divisions and departments to obtain services and project requirements to achieve customer needs.
Ensures tasks are coordinated, schedules and budgets are maintained.
Own the launch and turn-up of new circuits for existing or new sites and remotely configuring enterprise-scale network deployments.
