J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for an Application Developer – Software Engineer to join a global technology team that supports the front office areas of a Global Asset Manager either as a Full Time Employee or Contractor.

• Maximize application agility and scalability by adopting both public and private cloud technologies
• Developing continuous delivery capabilities by utilizing DevOps to optimize time to market.
  

Principal Responsibilities:

In this role, you will join a global team of technologists whose primary focus is on designing, developing and delivering next generation platforms for their portfolio managers, traders and risk officers. You will have the opportunity to directly partner with these business stakeholders, understand their objectives/needs and deliver strategic solutions that enable them to focus on portfolio performance and deliver superior results.

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

Relevant technical skills include:

• Strong proficiency as a Python Software Engineer

• Strong data analysis skills – Experience with Big Data is a plus
• Experience with cloud-based development is a plus
• An in-depth understanding of DevOps development practices is a plus
  

Familiarity with modern software development and design concepts across multiple languages, as well as a passion for technology innovation will allow you to harness emerging technology trends to deliver solutions to their business in an efficient and agile manner.
