C# / .Net Cash Equities Analytics Trading Developer

J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a C# / .Net Trading Developer at a global investment bank to join a talented global Cash Equities Trading Technology team focused on high quality and consistent delivery to support the firm in meeting their business objectives. In this role, you will be working closely with the business; you will work as a part of a team on the analytics suite of products for the cash execution platform, including regulatory reporting and transaction cost analysis.

The team works and sits side-by-side as part of the front office business and interact with their stakeholders on a daily basis building scalable and creative trading applications that support the investment process and help manage risk & capital.

The Trading Developer will be a significant contributor in enabling their vision and helping the organization to grow and improve their Trading business.

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

They are looking for you to bring proven problem-solving skills, software development expertise in C# and your interest in financial markets to this role.

• Experience in C#.Net as well as familiarity with SQL or other relational database, writing and consuming web services (REST/SOAP/WCF/Web API) and continuous integration tools such as Jira, Bitbucket and Bamboo
• Financial Services experience dealing with Front Office business, does not have to be Equities, will consider other asset classes as well.
• Experience working with large amounts of data - there is a project coming up working on Trade data –writing code on efficiently dealing with big data
• Dealing with reg reporting, a big plus.
• Experience with trading systems and/or Risk Management is desired but not a must
• Strong analytical skills
• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Math with a background in Computer Science / Engineering, Mathematical or related educational background
• Experience with lively, organic, highly collaborative environments
• Ability to craft creative and practical solutions to problems and express those solutions in code.
• Must be an entrepreneurial, self-motivated, open-minded, conceptual, intelligent, bright individual who is intellectually honest & open to debate with excellent synthesis abilities.
• Strong desire to contribute and build a business – not just solve novel problems.
