J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for a Software Engineer at a prominent FinTech Startup in Stamford Connecticut.

An exciting opportunity to work at a self-funded, profitable financial technology startup building the next generation platform for large alternative investment managers. They are creating, from the ground up, an extensive, modular front to back office platform that will redefine the role of technology in the investment industry and deliver game-changing advances to sophisticated investment managers. Their platform provides unparalleled support for algorithmic, automated decision making that allows their clients to measure & evolve their trading strategies.

You will be responsible for developing, testing, and integrating new features and expanding on the core platform.

Responsibilities:

Seeking driven, innovative developer for a small, agile team creating the future of investment management and trading software...

You'll be an all-hands-on-deck, whatever-it-takes contributor to all levels of their software design. You will interface directly with senior managers (CTOs and Development Managers) at their clients to understand specifications. You will work on feature development, testing, bug fixing, maintenance, and support. You will have the opportunity to work on all aspects of their technology pipeline, from black-box algorithms to real-time visual analytics, from server and UI coding to our messaging architecture.

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
  • High level of technical proficiency in C#.NET (or Java/C++), SQL
  • Experience with backend technologies (database, messaging, interprocess communications)
  • An affinity for well architected solutions and a passion for high standards of quality
  • Excellent business communication and interpersonal skills, and an ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical staff
  • Excellent collaboration skills: Ability to work in an entrepreneurial environment and interact with a variety of stakeholders
  • Must be an entrepreneurial, self-motivated, open-minded, conceptual, intelligent, bright individual who is intellectually honest & open to debate with excellent synthesis abilities.
  • Strong desire to contribute and build a business – not just solve novel problems.
