J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for an experienced and highly motivated Investor Relations Associate at a prominent NYC Private Equity - Investment Manager.

The client is seeking a highly motivated individual who has excellent communication skills and works effectively in a dynamic, collaborative team environment. Key aspects of the role include the creation and updating of materials, assistance in responding to investor diligence requests (such as due diligence questionnaires, request for proposals and frequent ad hoc requests), database analysis and CRM management, and is a liaison across internal teams to facilitate information requests.

The candidate will be part of a small team with a lot of responsibility and play a key part in the growth of the firm, funds, and team, and will have an opportunity to develop broad based skills across the Business Development and Investors Relations team. This is a newly created role reporting to the head of Business Development and Investor Relations and will directly support the team.

This individual will be a significant contributor in enabling their vision and helping the organization to grow and improve their businesses. To be successful in this role you must be highly detail oriented and organized, able to meet assigned deadlines and have first class communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and update materials for investment offerings in partnership with the investment, finance, and legal/compliance teams
  • Facilitate and track investor requests including requests for proposals, due diligence questionnaires and other frequent ad hoc requests; Leverage portfolio database (PowerBi) to enrich presentations and analysis
  • Create and manage database of investor questions and responses
  • Log, track, and report on investor activity in the team’s CRM system (Backstop Solutions)
  • Coordinate and schedule internal and external meetings and calls
  • Liaise with various internal teams to create new content, materials, reporting when needed

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

  • Undergraduate degree and minimum 2-3 years’ experience in investment banking, institutional investment marketing, equity research or investment consulting
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in applying investment analysis and producing content
  • Extremely detailed oriented and organized
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to take on what’s needed to support the team
  • Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Strong sense of personal responsibility, ownership mentality, reliability, and results-orientation
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Tenacious/persistent - goes the extra mile

    Education:

  • Strong academic record and a bachelor’s or higher degree
