J Harlan Group is currently conducting a search for an experienced and highly motivated Business Development & Investor Relations Analyst at a prominent NYC Private Equity - Investment Manager.

The Business Development and Investor Relation's ("BDIR") team is seeking a highly motivated individual who has excellent communication skills and works effectively in a dynamic, collaborative team environment. This is a client services role that will manage critical investor-related processes and contribute to strategic projects for the firm's investors. The individual will work closely with external and internal firm constituents, including investors, Administrator, BDIR, Legal, Accounting, Operations, and IT.

The candidate will be part of a small team with a lot of responsibility and play a key part in the growth of the firm, funds, and team, and will have significant opportunity to develop skills and exposure to the BDIR and the firm in an exciting environment. This is a newly created role reporting to the head of BDIR and will directly support a growing team.

This individual will be a significant contributor in enabling their vision and helping the organization to grow and improve their businesses. To be successful in this role you must be highly detail oriented and organized, able to meet assigned deadlines and have first class communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate and track investor requests including requests for proposals, due diligence questionnaires and other frequent ad hoc requests:
  • Leverage portfolio database (PowerBi) to enrich presentations and analysis
  • Create and manage database of investor questions and responses
  • Respond to existing investor inquiries
  • Contribute to project-oriented work (e.g., tax, compliance, legal initiatives)
  • Contribute to annual investor meetings
  • Maintain and update the firm's CRM system (Backstop)
  • Coordinate and schedule internal and external meetings and calls with current and prospective investors
  • Assist with overseeing the relationship with the firm's third-party Administrator for current investors
  • Liaise with various internal teams to create new content, materials, reporting when needed

The ideal candidate would have a background including:

  • 1-3 years' relevant experience with alternative investment manager, third party administrator, wealth management, fund of funds, investment banking
  • Highly organized, strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and take ownership in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in applying investment analysis and producing content
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Positive attitude and willingness to take on new projects
  • Highly motivated, ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Education:

  • Strong academic record and a bachelor’s or higher degree

Salary Range: Estimated base salary range for this position is: $60,000 - $90,000. Employees may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
