Practice and Business Development Manager - Litigation

Law Firm - Nashville, TN

We are working on behalf of our client, an Am Law 200 firm to recruit for a Practice and Business Development Manager. The Practice and Business Development Manager will be responsible for execution of business development and practice management tactics that advance strategic Litigation practice group goals.

Marketing/Business Development responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating with Managing Director and practice group leaders on the development of strategic plans
  • Developing RFP responses
  • Tracking practice group trends
  • Tracking client and industry news
  • Assisting MD by taking the lead BD strategy role with the Litigation team
  • Ensuring marketing collateral is representative of the practice and tailoring bios and practice descriptions as needed for specific new business opportunities
  • Providing event strategy and leading event execution
  • Working with PR firms on pitch development

Practice Group management responsibilities include:

  • Assisting MD and Practice Head with practice group meetings
  • Executing monthly report tracking and analysis
  • Engaging in the lateral partner and associate interview process
  • Assisting Professional Development with practice-specific training needs

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor's degree, at least five years' relevant experience and strong project management skills with the proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans. In addition, a client-focused approach, with a professional maturity that engenders respect and trust from others. This role will have a direct report, so the capability to manage and nurture others through leadership is ideal.
