Chief Marketing Officer

Calibrate Legal has been retained by our client to recruit a Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).  Our client is an Am Law 200 firm with more than 500 lawyers practicing in 13 offices across 9 states.  The CMO will lead the Firm’s marketing, business development, client relations and communication strategies with an aggressive focus on achieving the Firm’s vision for the future.  The Firm is seeking an exceptional marketing executive who will boldly lead the team to effectively execute the Firm’s strategic objectives, partnering closely with the Chairman, COO, CEO and industry, market, practice and client team leadership.

The ideal candidate has acute marketing and business development instincts with the ability to both think strategically and develop infrastructure platforms to position the team for seamless execution.  An extraordinary leader and manager of people, the successful candidate will be a highly effective communicator with a demonstrated talent for leveraging collaborative relationships to deliver impactful results.  Candidates must be able to articulate how their past experiences have shaped their approach and philosophy on driving change, creative problem solving and developing highly effective teams.  A minimum of 10 years of marketing/business development experience in a large, multi-office professional services firm, preferably a law firm, is required.  Demonstrated success in building, developing and managing a dispersed team is essential.  A Bachelor’s degree is required; a JD, MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.  Regular travel to all firm offices is required.  The position is based in either Nashville, Louisville or Cincinnati.  The firm is conducting a national search and welcomes candidates who are committed to relocating to one of our preferred markets.
