Senior Accounting Analyst

Kelaca - Raleigh, NC

Kelaca is looking for a Senior Accounting Analyst for our client partner in Raleigh, NC. This position is a fully remote, 6+ month contract and provides analytic and technical expertise to facilitate the payroll function of the Bank. Resolves complex issues impacting payroll processing and assists in the ongoing maintenance of Human Resources systems. Assists in HR and Bank initiatives including mergers and acquisitions. Provides guidance and leadership to work group and serves as a resource on payroll matters for wider business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processes manual pay adjustments, deductions and earnings changes, updates associate hours in the time and attendance system, and assists in annual deliverables
  • Analysis - Sources, compiles, codes, and interprets data.
  • Analyzes data to validate output and ensure appropriate tax reporting. Creates imports and exports to streamline analysis processes for work group.
  • System Maintenance - Manages company reorganization in the Human Resource Management System (HRMS), consulting with managers and business partners to create new organizational levels.
  • Participates in ongoing maintenance of the HRMS, including time and attendance.
  • Develops testing plans and validates results for software upgrades and custom modules impacting payroll processes.
  • Resolves technical issues impacting payroll processing.
  • Project Support - Acts as consultative payroll partner to HR and Bank projects.
  • Provides support to mergers and acquisition activities including set-up of state and local taxes, general ledger, organizational structure, and associate records.
  • Processing - Processes third party disability pay and assists with annual deliverables.
  • Guides less experienced analysts on the financial and accounting treatment of complex transactions.
  • Operations - Supports the financial management of benefit administration and the maintenance of the Payroll Operations Manual.
  • Maintains knowledge of requirements related to payroll, tax, labor laws, and other applicable regulations.
  • Handles escalated payroll inquiries.

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of experience in Payroll and Analytic OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Payroll and Analytics
  • Knowledge of pay, employee, and tax-related regulations
  • Processing multi-state payroll over 10,000
  • Knowledge of web-based Human Resources information systems, including time and attendance
  • Experience with UltiPro, Cognos, Business Intelligence, and PeopleSoft GL
  • Analytical skills – data
  • Computer skills – MS Office
  • Detail oriented

Preferred Experience:

  • Fundamental Payroll certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification

Job Type: Full-time

Hours of Work in Office: Monday-Friday; 8am-5pm

FLSA Exemption Status: Exempt
