Business Development Manager - Nutraceuticals (Contract Manufacturing)

Our client is a nutraceutical Contract Manufacturer seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to lead their global sales efforts. He/She will help expand their fast growing business in nutraceutical, dietary supplements, herbal remedies, sport nutrition, and skin care (Private Label and Contract Manufacturing).This position reports to the CEO and is responsible for securing B2B sales with major consumer brands owners, internet marketers, distributors and contract manufacturers around the world.  This is a remote position and candidate must reside in the U.S.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty.Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Expert knowledge of client needs and technical aspects regarding Private Label and Contract Manufacturing in the Nutraceutical industry.
  • Awareness of regulatory and quality control issues with regard to nutraceuticals, dietary supplements, etc.
  • Existing access to industry contacts and potential purchasing contacts in target client base
  • Excellent organizational skills and execution of details to facilitate the sales process
  • Grow company reputation for top-quality products and superb customer service
  • Continues to maintain knowledge and keeps current on developments with the Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act of 1994.
  • Manages and presents product demonstrations and educational programs, participates in sales and marketing events, and represents the company at various community and business development functions to promote the company and its products.
  • Identification of prospective clients using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations and/or trade show/conference attendance.
  • Follow-up on leads generated through own efforts or elsewhere within the organization
  • Maintain relationships with clients by providing support, technical information, guidance, research and recommendations to improve product performance or additional applications
  • Quote prices, terms and other specifications and prepare sales contracts
  • Negotiate prices or terms of sales/service agreements
  • Insight and understanding of production lead times for product delivery to clients
  • Manage accounts and driving new growth
  • Collaborates with Operation and Office teams and Quality on the development of new products
  • Monitors key customer relationships, market conditions, competitor activity, and provide feedback to peers on executive leadership team
  • Travel to manage key customer relationships and develop new key relationships
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales and marketing methods, revenues, budgets, expenses, and results.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3-5 years of sales related experience in the nutraceutical products industry
  • Familiarity of the Nutra/Skin/Supplement, private label, wholesalers, distributors, internet marketers and key players.
  • Knowledge of principles and processing for providing customer service; including needs, meeting quality standards and evaluation of client satisfaction
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting and selling products and/or services.
  • This includes marketing strategy and tactics, sales techniques and sales control systems
  • Demonstrate professional and friendly demeanor in all communications (face-to-face, telephone, electronically, etc.)
  • Understand technical aspects of private label and contract manufacture and customer requirements in the nutraceutical industry.
  • Awareness of Regulatory and Quality Control requirements with regard to dietary supplements
  • Excellent organizational skills and execution of details to facilitate the sales process
  • Ability to interface well with other departments: Regulatory, Operations, Quality to obtain information to complete the sale
  • Effective utilization of MS Office Suite tools, QuickBooks and Fishbowl system
