The company manufactures equipment for the agricultural, industrial, commercial truck, and military markets. This person will manage a team of sourcing professionals that procure both direct and indirect materials, as well as the support processes and SAP oversight for the purchasing area. This person will work closely with the leadership team on new products and existing product modifications, as well as the Quality Department on supplier development and the tracking of key supplier measurable.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies
Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
Craft negotiation strategies and close deals with optimal terms
Partner with stakeholders to ensure clear requirements documentation
Perform cost and scenario analysis, and bench-marking
Assess, manage, and mitigate risks
Seek and partner with reliable vendors and suppliers
Determine quantity and timing of deliveries
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand
B.S. Degree in Business or other applicable discipline with 3-5 years experience as a Purchasing Professional in sourcing within a manufacturing environment. Experience managing other purchasing professionals is a plus. Significant vendor negotiation experience (Domestic and International).
