Title: Piping Engineer
Location: Saratoga, Wyoming
Type: Full Time / Direct Hire
As the Piping SME on site, you'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards and RAGAGEP best practices on all piping work executed within the refinery fence line. You'll review all engineering packages to ensure compliance in your area of expertise. You'll write, review, and approve all related standards deviations and owner’s engineer decisions, revising and reviewing engineering standards regularly. You'll provide rulings, recommendations and answers to complicated technical questions as assigned by the SME Supervisor.
Sample of job duties:
Accountable for ensuring that the mechanical design of piping systems is per ASME B31.3 and B31.1 and other applicable codes and standards
Perform pipe stress analysis on new and existing piping systems using computer software such as Caesar II
Assist with system hydraulic design including piping and pump sizing
Provide technical expertise in regards to piping related questions to other refinery departments
Participate in incident investigations and help identify problem areas
Bachelors of Science Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering. Prefer an Engineering Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of ASME and API piping and pressure vessel codes and standards.
Experience in an oil and gas preferred.
Excellent organization skills and the ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) is required.
