Laine Recruiting has partnered with an Am 200 full-service law firm of over 300 attorneys with 15 offices nationwide. Our client has been recognized by the 2024 U.S. News-Best Lawyers® “Best Law Firms” statewide and nationally.
They are looking to add 1-2 experienced Tax Attorney’s at or above a Senior Attorney level. Their Tax Attorney’s work on the tax aspects of planning and executing business transactions, structuring business and real estate entities and advising clients and colleagues on a variety of federal and New York State tax matters.
Qualifications:
- Current NY Bar admission.
- J.D. degree from accredited law school. An LLM in tax law or a CPA license in NY is helpful but not required.
- At least 7+ years practicing tax law, with experience in partnership tax, corporate tax, and tax structuring, including with respect to mergers and acquisitions.
- Tax credit experience is helpful but not required.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines and promptly respond to client’s needs.
- Strong organizational, time management and project management skills.
- The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work in a multi-office, team-based environment.

Compensation
The estimated salary range for a Senior Counsel is $150,000 – 225,000. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s years of experience, skill set, office location and book of business.
Pathway to membership (partner):
- Admission to membership is based on demonstrated ability to perform a substantial volume of legal work in a consistently excellent manner. The traits of responsibility, personality and proprietorship that determine one's ability to attract, serve and address client needs are important considerations.
- Associates employed by the firm directly from law school can normally anticipate consideration for membership within six to nine years of service with the firm. They consider experience outside the firm that contributes to the associate's demonstrated ability.
