Job Title: Associate Attorney

Company Overview:

Our client is a well-respected general litigation law firm in Baltimore, Maryland. It is currently seeking an Associate Attorney to join its team. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for handling cases from intake through resolution, negotiating settlements, and representing clients in court proceedings. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with experienced attorneys while also providing autonomy and growth potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Litigate civil matters in the areas of Family Law, Landlord, and Tenant, Contracts, and Trusts and Estates.

  • Handle limited criminal defense and juvenile delinquency matters.

  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.

  • Prepare for trials, including drafting pleadings, motions, and briefs.

  • Participate in all forms of discovery, including interrogatories, depositions, and document production.

  • Negotiate settlement and separation agreements.

  • Represent clients in court hearings and proceedings.

  • Maintain regular communication with clients to provide updates and address concerns.

  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

  • Stay abreast of legal developments and changes in relevant areas of law.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the Maryland Bar in good standing.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in discovery, defense, contracts, legal research, trial practice, family law, and personal injury.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional client service.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
