Position: Vice President for Healthcare Leveraged Finance for Major International Bank – Chicago, IL

Description of U.S. Leveraged Finance Team

The U.S. Leveraged Finance team has been active in the U.S. for over 20 years and is part of a major International Bank that provides a range of lending products, derivatives and other banking services to major corporations, financial institutions and private equity firms from its offices in Ireland, the UK and the US.  The US Leveraged Finance team provides senior cash flow debt financing to support the leveraged buyouts (LBO’s) of top middle market private equity firms.

 The Vice President for Healthcare serves as a key team member of the deal team, and will receive significant responsibility, deal experience, and client exposure.

Key Responsibilities

The primary responsibility is to execute Healthcare Leveraged Finance transactions originated by the senior originations team.

Principal Accountabilities

Internal

  • Prepare/Manage initial credit review pre-screens on new Healthcare Leveraged Finance deals
  • Lead due diligence analysis on new Healthcare transactions
  • Participate in discussions regarding pricing\structuring with Capital Markets
  • Prepare/Manage write ups of credit papers for submission to European based credit authorities and interface with Credit Department in Europe with respect to U.S. transactions

External

  • Act as interface with execution teams of private equity clients / partners
  • Participate in negotiations on transactions with private equity sponsors / partners
  • Build the Bank’s brand in Healthcare Leveraged Finance in the marketplace through professional interaction with private equity sponsor clients as part of the credit review process.

Essential Key Requirements

Experience

  • 7 – 10 years of experience in a Healthcare Leveraged Finance credit and underwriting role, with experience financing Healthcare transactions
  • Prior formal credit training program experience
  • Strong credit analysis skills

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
  • Excellent undergraduate academic record

Skills / Competencies

  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities
  • The ability to work on own initiative, as well as operate as part of team
  • Strong attention to detail is critical
  • Location: Chicago, Illinois
  • Willingness to work remotely, as necessary, based out of Chicago, IL
