Description of Business Unit

The Leveraged Finance team of a major International Bank provides a financing solution to financial sponsors and corporate clients, including leveraged loans, high yield bonds, bridge financing, and private debt. The platform combines underwriting, capital markets execution, and portfolio management, with a strong focus on middle market and sponsor-backed transactions.

This person will be an integral part of the group serving as Chief Investment Officer responsible for leading underwriting commitments for broadly syndicated leveraged loans and middle market private debt and supporting the underwrite-to-syndicate and asset management strategies of Leveraged Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting and approval of leveraged loans and private debt transactions
• Oversee portfolio management, including risk ratings, valuations, and covenant compliance
• Manage underwriting process, investment memos, and credit analysis standards
• Supervise legal documentation, due diligence, and credit policy adherence
• Partner with capital markets on fundraising, investor relations, and syndication

Experience

• 10+ years in leveraged finance experience at an Investment Bank, Commercial Bank, or Direct Lender)
• Strong expertise in credit underwriting and portfolio management
• Experience leading teams and managing full underwriting lifecycle

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited College or University
