Responsible for providing technical support and assistance to Client Service team. Including but not limited to the initial review new and renewal businessCollection of information from Client Service team/Clients.  Coordinates coverage terms and pricing with Carriers to obtain quotes.


• Reviews new business submissions from Client Service/Producer to ensure content is complete

•Processes new business clearance through applicable carrier systems

• Communicates with Client Service/Producer to obtain necessary data for initial underwriting review for both new and renewal business;

• Analyzes data to ensure program eligibility for new and renewal risks

• Inputs data into carrier rating models and produce quote

•Coordinates delivery of quote(s) to Producer/Client Services;

• Coordinates process of binding coverage with carrier

• Manages policy review and delivery to Producer/Client;

• Evaluates and underwrites policy and coverage change requests received from Producer/Client;

• Manages endorsement process with carrier and delivery to co-Producer/Client

• Organizes and maintains program underwriting files;• Manages day to day issues with Producer/Clients

• Prepares and analyzes interim underwriting reviews for delegated accounts

• Participates in meetings with Producer, Clients and Carriers;


• Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information)

Assist with the development and facilitation of efficient strategies related to workflow processes between the technical and client services groups.

Refines and maintains standards applicable to clie

nt renewals, developing new assessment tools or

methodologies as appropriate and training internal

staff on use of tools, resources and standards;

?

Participates in the development of a project plan rela

ted to the allocation of team resources for client

renewals;

?

Prepares renewal reports on designated clients, nego

tiating with carriers and meeting with clients as

required;

?

Supports internal staff in development of renewal reports;

?

Develops and maintains relationships with insuranc

e carriers, meets regularly with senior carrier

representatives to understand carrier pricing me

thodologies, promotes efficiencies and clarifies

expectations and coordinates quarterly surveys of

carrier trends, quality and financial data and

disseminates internally;

?

Manages staff including; motivating/mentoring sta

ff, providing employee training and development,

conducting performance reviews and performing disciplinary action as appropriate;

?

Participates on management co

mmittee and any related duties;

?

Participates in the development of company seminars and workshops as appropriate;

?

Participates in new client presentation teams as required;

?

Performs monthly eligibility reviews, including: Pa

yroll deductions (bi-mont

hly), FSA, WebCOBRA vs.

BeneTrac, and terminations;

?

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum 5 years of group health and welfare underwriting experience

Minimum 2 years of management experience

California Life and Disability Insurance license required
