The Pool Construction Manager's primary role and responsibilities are to schedule and direct personnel to ensure that the client's expectations are met. The Manager will also at times work on-site to ensure crew team members complete construction projects. This individual will need to provide complete client satisfaction, while maintaining relationships to benefit both the client and company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities with Client

  • Understand client expectations on a per site basis
  • Oversee landscape, subcontractor and irrigation construction crews on daily basis to meet project objectives, timelines, and quality standards
  • Interact with client representatives daily to communicate project progress, answer questions, resolve issues, escalate issues
  • Attend meetings with both clients and team members
  • Capture accurate project data in a clear and uniform fashion to assist with job costing, purchasing, billing, and other requested needs
  • Familiarity with each site's specification and working daily with production team to ensure work is being completed in a timely and satisfactory manner
  • Ensure quality standards are met or exceeded - i.e. customer and company specified
  • Perform regularly scheduled site assessments to identify quality or service issues and provide detailed site information to the client, ensuring we meet our commitment to clients and best practices for the company
  • Resolve client concerns in professional and timely manner

Personnel Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of crew level relationship - i.e. train, coach, mentor, discipline and develop and review all crew level team members
  • Plan, organize and manage work for crews, while developing and maintaining motivated and productive crews
  • provide filed training to ensure all employees are able to effectively and efficiently manage all required duties and tasks
  • Monitor and ensure team members are following safety regulations to minimize accidents to personnel and equipment
  • Report any accidents according to established company procedures
  • Hire and train new crew members on proper installation techniques, safety, communication, quality, productivity, and other aspects of the business to ensure a safe and profitable workplace
  • Train team members on the safe and proper way to operate construction equipment such as skid loaders, mini excavators, plate compactors, power tools, etc.
  • Layout project activities for both immediate needs (daily) and long-term needs (week/month)
  • Maintain equipment and vehicles in a clean, operable and professional manner

Operations Responsibilities

  • Work with Operations Manager to schedule and manage crews, provide instruction and goals, while maintaining efficiencies and quality
  • Participate in weekly operations meetings, supporting operations team and client relationships
  • Manage all activities for installation services including the coordination of all materials, equipment and subcontractors
  • Proactively coordinate with Purchasing Manager to ensure all materials and equipment are procured and delivered in time to meet schedule
  • Enforce and manage all Company policies and procedures

Skill-set, Experience and Education

  • Spanish speaking not required but recommended
  • Proficient in take-offs (site measuring)
  • Pricing, contracts and time management
  • Minimum 5 years of customer service and management experience in landscape industry
  • Minimum 5 years of working construction experience in building retaining walls, paver patios, pool decks, in-ground pool construction, walkways, and subcontractors.
