Position: Maintenance Business Development Representative
Department: Sales
Reports to: VP of Sales
Works with: Business Developers, Division Leaders, Project Managers, Office Personnel

 

Position Summary:

Responsible for new business sales and existing client business development. Have a strong interest in creating new business, be dedicated to product and service excellence, have exceptional sales, people, customer service and administrative skills, and possess an over-the top work ethic with a drive to succeed.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Develop New Business

  • Responsible for growing our company's maintenance sales through proactive prospecting, client contact (phone, field visits, soliciting of personal and professional referrals and other types of lead generation and follow-up, networking, marketing, etc.)
  • Routinely solicit and prepare RFP’s for new prospects, perform client presentations and execute contracts in order to generate new business, per assigned goals
  • Follow up and report promptly on any leads assigned or referred, and maintain timely communication about progress in CRM
  • Identify and track potential client opportunities in maintenance and snow removal areas in the Denver metro area, and along the Front Range
  • Manage and maintain client and prospect data, and keep up-to-date records of prospecting, RFP and sales activities, and coordinate with management and related staff at all times
  • Maintain communication with ACM’s (Account Managers) and other personnel so that new client business is properly implemented into our systems, and clients are provided with excellent customer service both during and after the initial sale

 

Ensure Continued Growth and Development of Current Clients

  • Regularly contact assigned accounts in order to assure continued long-term client relationships
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with ACM’s and Business Development Manager in order to identify additional client business opportunities
  • Constantly look for opportunities to follow up, sell and deliver more services and products to existing customers
  • Maintain regular contact and conduct various marketing and social activities with active and potential ‘renewable’ clients, and seek to re-activate inactive clients in order to build business from existing accounts and create referral opportunities.

 

Create Visibility and Contacts in the Community and Professional Networks

  • Be an ambassador and create goodwill in the surrounding community in order to develop sales for our company
  • Make our firm the first that companies think of for their landscape needs
  • Project a professional, dependable, excellent image for our company at all times
  • Attend trade shows, professional networking events, chamber of commerce, etc. in order to identify and close new business opportunities and build visibility in the community
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work directly with Business Development Manager and executive team as directed to create sales, marketing and business development programs and opportunities and grow the business
  • 40+ hours per week and may include weekends and evenings

 

Qualities Needed:

  • Exceptional people skills, a relationship builder with the ability to generate and maintain positive, effective relationships with prospects, clients, vendors, co-workers and community/professional contacts
  • A genuine desire to spend time with our customers and earn their trust, make friends, build good relationships, deliver on your promises, keep your work and have fun
  • Successful sales experience in landscape or closely related field, with proven outside sales track record and references
  • A street smart team player and self-starter with strong work ethic who learns quickly and loves working in an entrepreneurial industry, in a physical hands-on casual outdoor sales environment
  • Strong follow up and presentation skills (computer-based preparation of RFP’s a must)
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and time management skills
  • Computer skills include but are not limited to MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), and some database management
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities and projects
  • A proven successful sales track, with experience and knowledge

 

Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job the position is regularly exposed to normal office environmental conditions. Noise levels in the work place are occasionally high.
