The Maintenance Manager provides managerial responsibility, technical direction, administrative support, and leadership to the maintenance staff. Ensure compliance to established safety rules/policies, customer quality and production specifications. Actively lead and participate in the plant safety, housekeeping, and continuous improvement efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have a four year degree with heavy manufacturing experience.  Must have preventative and predictive maintenance background. 5S preferred. Corrective Maintenance. Must have the ability to manage and motivate a workforce. 

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include, but are not limited to the following.

Directly manage a staff of up to 4 salary personnel and over 35 hourly skilled trades employees, covering all areas of the plant. Must possess the ability to manage by key performance indicators and actively lead plant safety, housekeeping, 5S and lean manufacturing programs by ensuring goals are met within the department.

Hold responsibility for technical direction, equipment, administrative management, and leadership in the maintenance department. This includes predictive, preventative and corrective maintenance programs.

Manage maintenance programs maximizing asset reliability, uptime, and cost effectiveness with available resources. Uses other maintenance disciplines in the development and application of reliability engineering, root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment and processes. Drives safety to Zero injuries and support mill transition to safety focused culture.

Develops, plans, and administers material and labor usage, while managing overall costs. Develops, implements, and oversees predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance programs. Establishes and provide the operational expertise component of leading and managing our cultural change process, the strategic and forward-thinking capabilities in both the operational and human capital areas of the operation. Develops improved methods for new capital investments, cost reduction and equipment refurbishment. Administers and implements Labor relations (CBA) through consultation with the Human Resources and Operation Managers. Assists in preparation of budgets and standards for cost measurement. Determines training needs and administer appropriate training programs for salaried and hourly employees within maintenance and planning to function in the most reliable manner. Develops and provides leadership with problem solving strategies that result in the successful execution of key performance objectives.

Ensures machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of the building does not deteriorate. Drives mill and department goals in safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost, productivity and continuous improvement.
