QA Manager

The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that food products produced and sourced meet standards set by regulatory authorities. Candidate will develop and maintain quality, safety and environmental policies and manage audit and certification requirements. Manager will lead quality assurance team and support manufacturing operations.

 

Quality

  • Lead and manage daily Quality activities and requirements per the SOPs for all manufacturing.
  • Ensure all company food safety and quality procedures are documented and followed correctly at all times
  • Conduct routine lab testing per SOPs
  • Coordinate all 3rd-party lab testing as required
  • Monitor and verify quality information pertaining to all inbound materials, completed finished goods for outbound shipments
  • Maintain all required QA records per procedures and Audit requirements
  • Collaborate with Customer Happiness on any escalated quality or food safety consumer issues
  • Lead all cross functional teams required for the resolution of any escalated quality or food safety issues
  • Conduct monthly GMP Audits and lead the cross functional operations teams on corrective action plans

Sanitation

  • Manage daily sanitation process for manufacturing and non-manufacturing areas of the facility
  • Ensure all scheduled sanitation activities are completed on-time and in accordance with defined procedures
  • Ensure all all pre-production activities are completed Safety & Environmental
  • Sponsor for all safety initiatives as required by Quality Management programs to ensure compliance
  • Represent safety performance in monthly staff meeting
  • Ensure plant compliance with environmental requirements

Management

  • Responsible for QA and Sanitation team performance
  • Maintain all process documentation, such as Standard Operating Procedures, manuals, policies and procedures related to any food safety compliance requirements. Lead cross-functional work to update or create SOPs as required by business changes
  • Develop all Audit and Safe Quality food programs and road maps to ensure successful passing and completion. Conduct meetings day of audit with visit Auditors
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, warehouse, R&D, and Supply Chain to resolve escalated food quality issues.
  • Develop and lead the process for approval of new ingredients and Suppliers from R&D to Sourcing to Supply Chain
  • Lead all Quality, Sanitation, and Safety cost saving initiatives; including but not limited to labor costs and supplies
  • Own communication and relationship with any Supplier, Vendor, or Customer Quality teams
  • Build out and lead the supplier verification process with sourcing
  • Lead co-packer quality validations to ensure compliance with company standards

Training

  • Develop and maintain training for quality, food safety and safety programs to all employees
  • Provide required training to all associates that support the manufacturing process: sourcing, planning, manufacturing, batching, warehouse, R&D, Ecomm, maintenance, and sanitation
  • Support develop and delivery new employee onboarding

SQF / Food Safety Responsibilities

  • Assure compliance with all SQF Procedure requirements
  • Assure compliance with all GMP requirements including personal protective clothing
  • Assure all products are manufactured in a safe, quality manner
  • Assure compliance with all customer specifications
  • Promote and enforce compliance with all employees

Requirements

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of quality and food safety experience, with management level experience in HACCP, FSMS, or SQF preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in food science, physical sciences, engineering, or quality assurance
  • Comprehensive knowledge and previous experience with HACCP, GMP, GFSI, FSMS, SQF, FSSC 22000, FDA and/or USDA audits desirable
  • Experience with Safety Management and Environmental Compliance programs and certification
  • Must be flexible with work schedule to support growing operational requirements
