Role: Data Engineer

As a Data Engineer you’ll be responsible for designing, constructing, testing, optimizing and deploying solutions, focusing specifically on back-end data integration, SQL server databases, and ETL development. The successful candidate will have over three years of experience implementing BI solutions in a Healthcare Environment and a solid knowledge of business fundamentals to foster productive working relationships with functional partners.


Primary Duties:

• Analyze Healthcare data, design data models, and create databases/data warehouse to store this data

• Design and develop ETL processes necessary to load this data to the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW)

• Implement, schedule, monitor and support all related processes, applications and databases

• Create cubes to allow for advanced analysis, and help with providing insights

• Collaborate closely with reporting team to support reporting and analysis needs. This includes running ad-hoc queries as necessary, building data marts, etc.

• Create and maintain documentation, including mapping and data dictionary

• Monitor processes/jobs, evaluate query performance and optimize

• Manage source code, conduct code reviews, and test



• 2 – 3 years’ experience in designing/modeling, and building data warehouses and data marts

• 1 – 2 years’ experience working with Healthcare claims/EMR data

• Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing concepts and methodologies, technologies, and tools, and ETL Methodologies

• 2 – 4 years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server

• Experience working with Talend as a Data Integration Tool highly desired

• Financial Modeling experience is highly preferred

• Experience building cubes is a huge plus


Essential Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience

• Demonstrated ability to understand, discuss and document complex data models

• Excellent communications skills both written and oral

• Very strong technical knowledge in related field

• Ability to manage and complete multiple concurrent projects in a timely manner

• Strong organizational and time management skills

• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
