Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Instructional Designer (Multimedia Focus) to join our Learning and Development team. In this role, you will design and produce short-form learning modules, including videos, screen-based walkthroughs, and visual guides—that help both internal teams and customers onboard effectively and better use our software. Your work will make onboarding smoother, learning more accessible, and product knowledge easier to retain. You will focus on creating high-quality multimedia learning assets that simplify complex software, while enhancing the organization and effectiveness of our LMS (TalentLMS) to ensure content is easy to access, engaging, and trackable. Additionally, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure all learning materials are aligned with real user needs and business objectives.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Create Multimedia Learning Content: Develop engaging materials such as screen recordings, software tutorials, video explainers, and visual references tailored to various audiences.
  • Simplify Complex Workflows: Break down product workflows into clear, step-by-step resources, using video and visuals to enhance understanding and retention.
  • LMS Content Management: Organize and maintain learning materials in TalentLMS, ensuring ease of access and progress tracking for users.
  • Content Evaluation and Optimization: Assess the effectiveness of training programs by gathering learner feedback, analyzing performance data, and making continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with Cross-functional Teams: Partner with product teams, subject matter experts, and stakeholders to design relevant, impactful learning content.
  • Develop Assessments: Create quizzes, reflection prompts, knowledge checks, and hands-on exercises to reinforce key concepts and assess learner comprehension.
  • Training Delivery and Support: Lead training sessions and offer support for staff and customers on LMS use, course creation, and content delivery best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with instructional design trends, LMS features, and e-learning technologies to keep programs innovative and aligned with business goals.
  • Diverse Learning Formats: Produce a variety of content types, including e-learning courses, webinars, videos, and job aids, to accommodate different learning styles and needs.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design, preferably in a software or technical environment.
  • 2+ years of experience creating multimedia instructional content (e.g., video explainers, screen captures, visuals, job aids)
  • Experience with TalentLMS or other learning management systems is a plus.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
  • Familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and e-learning best practices.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or equivalent instructional design certification.
  • Certified Instructional Designer/Developer (CIDD) or similar.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong grasp of instructional design principles and multimedia skills, ensuring brand consistency and effective content flow.
  • Expertise in simplifying complex systems into accessible learning content, particularly through video and visuals.
  • Excellent communicator with strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of data analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Power BI) for tracking learner progress.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting LMS and content development tool issues.
  • Adaptable, creative, and skilled in problem-solving to meet evolving learning needs in a fast-paced environment.
