Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative Full-Time or Intern, Supply Chain Planning and Optimization Engineer to join our team. This position is perfect for someone passionate about using advanced algorithms and data-driven solutions to solve complex scheduling and optimization problems within the supply chain.

As a part of our team, you will work on exciting challenges that are like Max Flow-Min Cut, Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP), Multi-Knapsack Problem, and other optimization models. Your goal will be to build and deploy independent systems that optimize processes and feed data to modify each other's solutions, creating a seamless and efficient supply chain system.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Optimization Modeling: Use Python to model and solve complex optimization problems such as Multi-Knapsack with Choice Dependent Values, Multi-Agent Traveling Salesman, Max-Flow with Consumption Nodes and tying them all together to build a turnkey supply chain.
  • System Development: Design, build, and implement independent systems that solve specific optimization tasks. These systems will feed their results into each other, continuously improving the overall supply chain performance.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Work with large datasets to analyze performance, identify trends, and ensure that optimization models adapt to changing conditions in real-time.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including data scientists, engineers, and supply chain experts to continuously improve the optimization algorithms and systems.
  • Continuous Improvement: Research and implement the latest optimization algorithms, machine learning methods, and industry trends to keep our systems cutting-edge.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Programming Proficiency: Strong experience in Python programming, with a focus on optimization libraries (e.g., PuLP, ortools, SciPy).
  • Mathematical & Analytical Skills: Understanding of key optimization techniques and algorithms like TSP, Knapsack, Linear Programming, or Integer Programming.
  • Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to break down complex scheduling and optimization problems into manageable components and deliver effective solutions.
  • Independence & Initiative: Comfortable working autonomously and taking ownership of building systems that interact and modify each other’s outputs.
  • Collaboration Skills: Strong communication and teamwork abilities in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing or holding a bachelor’s or master’s degree in industrial engineering, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or related fields.
