Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our data team. This is an entry-level role, ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to start their career in data science. The successful candidate will work with Python and PySpark to analyze large datasets, build data pipelines, and develop models that support business decisions. You will have the opportunity to learn from experienced data professionals and gain hands-on experience with big data tools.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

Data Processing & Analysis

• Work with large datasets using PySpark and Python
• Clean, transform, and analyze structured and unstructured data
• Perform exploration data analysis (EDA) to uncover insights

Machine Learning & Modeling

• Assist in building and validating predictive models
• Work with statistical methods to analyze trends and patterns
• Optimize machine learning workflows

Data Pipelines & Engineering

• Help develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines
• Optimize queries and data transformations for performance
• Collaborate with data engineers to improve data infrastructure

Collaboration & Communication

• Work closely with data analysts, engineers, and business teams
• Present findings through reports, visualizations, and dashboards
• Write clean, well-documented code and follow best practices

Education, Qualifications, and Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field
• Programming: Proficiency in Python (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib)
• Big Data Processing: Familiarity with PySpark or a strong willingness to learn
• SQL Knowledge: Ability to write basic queries for data extraction
• Mathematics & Statistics: Understanding of basic statistics and probability
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Communication: Ability to explain findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
