Job Summary

We are looking for an Sr. Accountant to join the Finance Team. We are looking for an individual who wants a challenging accounting leader role in a fast-growing SaaS company. This candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple priorities with precision and a keen analytical eye. The Sr. Accountant is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, monthly close, and internal control. The Sr. Accountant will assist the Financial Controller in accounting and tax compliance.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Lead and own the full monthly close process and complete required reporting before the deadline required by the parent company. Prepare journal entries, reconcile inter-company transactions, review account balances, and report in the parent company’s consolidation system.
  • Responsible for providing monthly financial reports to the management team.
  • Provide accounting guidance on daily accounting transactions processed by the team members.
  • Review accounting and internal control policies and processes. Make revision as needed. Oversee and enforce internal control. Prepare internal control documentation. Respond to quarterly internal control questionnaire required by the parent company
  • Work with accountant of the subsidiary in Brazil to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Review payroll. Responsible for payroll tax compliance, including registering with new states. Resolve payroll tax notices with ADP or state governments.
  • Prepare requested information to assist internal and external audits Work as a key contact for internal and external auditors
  • Assist Financial Controller to provide tax information to the parent company and external tax preparer to prepare income tax returns.
  • Prepare franchise tax returns and annual registrations for all registered states.
  • Respond to surveys required by federal and state governments
  • Ad-hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Four-year college degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA or CPA track preferred
  • 5-8 years of work experience in corporate accounting
  • Strong working knowledge in US GAAP or IFRS, including full understanding on income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • Experience in processing or managing payroll.
  • Understanding federal and state payroll taxes.
  • Basic knowledge of corporate taxation required.
  • NetSuite or equivalent ERP system required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite; advanced Excel skills required
  • Experience in financial audit
  • Strong sense or ownership and work ethics.
