The College of Nursing at the University of Central Florida (UCF), a next-generation public research institution located in Orlando, Florida, invites applicants for multiple full-time, nine-month, tenured Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor positions. These appointments will be in either the Department of Nursing Systems or the Department of Nursing Practice on the UCF Orlando campus and are expected to start in Fall 2024. The position will relocate to the UCF Lake Nona campus following completion of a new facility in Fall 2025.

THE OPPORTUNITY

University of Central Florida invites applicants for multiple full-time, nine-month, tenure-earning Assistant Professor positions (2) and tenured Associate Professor (2), or Professor (2) positions.

Assistant Professor
Minimum Qualifications

• A doctorate in Nursing from an accredited institution by the date of hire, or a research doctorate in a related discipline from an accredited institution with an earned master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution, by date of hire
• Unencumbered RN license. Florida licensure expected by date of hire, with upgrade to multi-status within the first semester of contract
• Research and scholarly activity focused on simulation and immersive technology, environment/climate change, healthy aging, vulnerable populations, mental health, population health, quality, safety and patient outcomes, health care for emerging space industry, informatics, or big data analytics. Other research areas may also be considered

Preferred Qualifications

• Record of research and extramural funding commensurate with rank
• Publication record commensurate with rank
• Record of teaching and service commensurate with rank
• Experience in online course instruction

Associate Professor or Professor
Minimum Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in nursing from an accredited institution by the date of hire, or a research doctorate in a related discipline from an accredited institution with an earned master’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution, by date of hire
• Unencumbered RN license. Florida licensure expected by date of hire, with upgrade to multi-status within the first semester of contract
• A program of research and scholarly activity focused on simulation and immersive technology, environment/climate change, healthy aging, vulnerable populations, mental health, population health, quality, safety and patient outcomes, health care for emerging space industry, informatics, or big data analytics. Other research areas may also be considered
• A sustained record of research and extramural funding commensurate with rank.
• A sustained publication record commensurate with rank

To be eligible for appointment as a tenured associate professor or professor upon hire, the selected candidate must have a demonstrated record of teaching, research, and service commensurate with rank.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mentoring doctoral students and early career faculty
• History of interdisciplinary research collaborations
• Demonstrated commitment to student success and excellence in undergraduate and/or graduate education commensurate with rank
• Experience in online course development and instruction
• Record of service commensurate with rank

Pursuant to Florida State Statute 1010.35, prior to offering employment to certain individuals in research-related positions, UCF is required to conduct additional screening.
