The AUBURN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF NURSING invites applications for one full-time, 9- or 12-month faculty/researcher position as THE GREGG E. NEWSCHWANDER ENDOWED PROFESSOR IN THE COLLEGE OF NURSING. The successful candidate will be appointed as a TENURE-TRACK ASSOCIATE OR FULL PROFESSOR, depending upon experience and qualifications. This endowment is designed to support superior faculty in the College of Nursing. The holder of this Professorship will demonstrate a strong commitment to students and the provision of high-quality instruction, research and service. The professor will strengthen and enhance teaching, research and outreach in the College of Nursing and the quality of their work will serve as a positive role model for their colleagues and students. The funds provided by this endowment may be used as salary support, travel, equipment, resources, assistants, etc. This faculty appointment is an on-campus position.

 

NURSING FACULTY OPPORTUNITY

In accord with the mission as an R1 Doctoral University, the Auburn University College of Nursing seeks to add a full-time, tenure-track nursing faculty/researcher to expand and enhance its nursing research activity. Candidates with research interests and experience in the areas of Adult Health or Mental Health are preferred.

At a land-grant university, tenure-track faculty are expected to participate in teaching, research, service, and outreach. This position is research intensive with the faculty member expected to have or to develop a focused program of research, seek external funding, and disseminate research findings. Tenure-track faculty also mentor nursing faculty with less research experience. This faculty member may bring active research or initiate new research efforts after joining the University.

This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and motivated faculty member/researcher to advance his or her academic career and to pursue research at one of the nation’s top public research institutions.

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates must have an earned research-focused PhD in nursing or a relevant discipline, a graduate degree in nursing, and evidence of an active program of research and scholarly productivity. Teaching experience with baccalaureate, graduate, and online nursing programs with evidence of interdisciplinary collaboration is desired.

The successful candidate must have an active and unencumbered Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) license or eligibility for obtaining an Alabama RN license. An Alabama RN license is required prior to the employment start date.

Candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the duration of employment.

Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
