Idaho State University’s College of Health (COH) invites applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean/Director of the School of Nursing in the College of Health. The Associate Dean/ Director of the School of Nursing reports to the Dean of the College of Health and is a 12-month position. The Associate Dean/Director will be located at the main campus in Pocatello, Idaho.

THE OPPORTUNITY

A national search is underway to recruit a nurse scholar with exceptional vision, academic leadership abilities, and research funding to become the next Associate Dean/Director for the School of Nursing at Idaho State University’s College of Health (COH). This is a 12-month position as the Associate Dean/ Director of the School of Nursing. The position reports to the Dean of the College of Health and will be located at the main campus in Pocatello, Idaho.

The Associate Dean/Director for the School of Nursing in the College of Health leads a multi-campus team dedicated to educating the nursing professional workforce of Idaho, provides support for the day-today operations of the School of Nursing, and develops a vision for excellence in undergraduate and graduate nursing education, research and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides innovative and effective leadership for School of Nursing academic programs.
• Supports the development of faculty and staff and creates a collegial culture of mutual respect.
• Champions nursing students and serves as a student advocate.
• Manages and monitors the School of Nursing budget in support of program excellence.
• Collaborates with the Dean of the COH and the Divisional VP on program development, expansion, and support for new initiatives.
• Teaches as appropriate and actively maintains funded research grant productivity.
• Monitors and maintains School of Nursing annual program evaluation for components of curriculum and program outcomes.
• Completes accreditation reports for components of curriculum and student-specific program outcomes.
• Supports a focus on a high level of excellence for all programs, students, staff, and faculty that align with and enhance ISU’s, COH’s, and the School's mission and vision.
• Engages in development work in support of nursing scholarships and initiatives.
• Develops and sustains external and internal partnerships in support of the School of Nursing

Minimum Qualifications

• A terminal research degree in nursing or a related field from an accredited institution
• Eligible for a RN license in Idaho
• An accomplished academician
• A well-established and progressive record of scholarly research and peer-reviewed publications consistent with the appointment in a tenured senior academic rank
• At least two years previous experience directing an undergraduate or graduate program in nursing
• At least two years budget creation and management experience
• At least two years assessing programmatic and student learning outcomes
• Experience with accreditation
• Outstanding communication skills

• Commitment to building necessary partnerships in support of excellence
